Potato Bake

caesar salad

  • Butter - 2 table spoons
  • Grated mozzarella cheese - 500gms
  • Whole cream milk - 1 cup
  • Smoked Paprika
  • Plain white flour - 2 tablespoons


  • Potatoes - 7-8 large
  • Grated mozzarella cheese
  • Parmesan Cheese


Instructions for potato bake

  1. Peel and cut potatoes into scallops, 0.3 - 0.5cm thick
  2. Boil potato scallops until soft, drain.
  3. Layer potatoes onto baking tray. Cover each layer with layer of white sauce and grated mozzarella.
  4. After last layer of potatoes cover with white sauce, mozzarella, and layer of Parmesan. Sprinkle smoked Paprika on top
  5. Bake in oven at 150 Celsius until golden-brown (30-45 minutes).

Instructions for white sauce:

  • Heat 1 cup milk in microwave oven
  • Melt 2 table spoons of butter in saucepan
  • Add milk to saucepan, bring to simmer
  • Slowly add flour, whisking as you go
  • Stop adding flour at desired consistency - should be syrup-like but not lumpy, keep whisking until lumps are gone
